"Girl with Peaches"
Valentin Serov (1865-1911) was one of the few artists
who bridged the gap between the Wanderers and the
symbolist and modernist painters. His lovely "Girl
with Peaches" shows some evidence of the influence
of early French impressionism on Russian painting.
Let us now turn our attention to the Symbolist movement
in visual arts.
